What's the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?
Great question! A Registered Dietitian (RD) has completed rigorous education requirements, a supervised internship, passed a national exam, and maintains continuing education. We're the nutrition pros who can provide medical nutrition therapy and work with your healthcare team. "Nutritionist" isn't a protected title – anyone can call themselves that, regardless of their education level.
When are you available for appointments?
I have the perfect timing for busy professionals! I offer evening and weekend appointments because I know life doesn't stop at 5 PM. Book directly from the home page and choose whatever time actually works for your crazy schedule!
Is this in-person or telehealth?
Totally your call! Whether you want to chat face-to-face in my cozy Westfield, MA office or rock your pajama pants during a HIPAA-compliant telehealth session, I've got you covered. The only requirement is that you are in Massachusetts!
What insurances do you take?
We're currently working our magic to get in-network with all the major insurance players! At this time we are accepting BCBS, Aetna, Tufts, Mass General Brigham, and Health New England. Stay tuned for more soon!
What conditions can you help with?
My specialties are Eosinophilic Esophagitis (been there, done that personally!) and weight management. I also work with digestive issues (IBS, IBD, GERD, food intolerances), metabolic conditions (diabetes, PCOS, thyroid issues), heart health, kidney disease, nutrient deficiencies, sports nutrition, and that frustrating "I don't know what's wrong but food makes me feel terrible" category. Honestly, if it involves food and your body, let's talk about it!
Why do you require a credit card on file when booking if Insurance covers my visit?
Great question! Insurance only pays us when you actually show up. The card on file just protects our time. Think of it as a pinky promise that you'll either show up or give us a heads up in the required timeframe!
Do you just tell me to eat kale and call it a day?
Absolutely not! I'm not the food police. We work together to find what actually works for YOUR life, preferences, and goals. No shame, no impossible meal plans, just real solutions.
How long are appointments?
Initial consultations are typically 60-90 minutes (we've got a lot to cover!), and follow-ups are usually 30-45 minutes. I focus on quality time, not rushed conversations.
What if I've tried "everything" and nothing works?
Then you're my kind of client! I love a good challenge, and trust me, there's always another angle we can explore together.
Do you provide meal plans?
Yes! I can provide meal plans when you need that structure and support. My approach focuses on teaching you the tools and knowledge to create sustainable eating patterns that work for your life. During our sessions, we'll collaborate to develop practical meal ideas and strategies, gradually building your confidence and skills so you can plan meals independently. Whether you start with meal plans or jump straight into learning the tools, we'll work at a pace that feels right for you.
What happens during our first appointment?
We'll dive deep into your health history, current eating patterns, lifestyle, and goals. Think of it as detective work, but for your digestive system! I'll ask lots of questions, and you can ask me anything too.
Do you have cash pay options?
I do! If we don't take your insurance but you still want to work with me, we offer cash pay packages! Each package consists of an initial and follow-up appointments. You can save money when you purchase more follow-ups at a time!
Regular Appointment Fees:
Initial: $180; Follow-up: $90
Package Rates:
Initial plus follow-up appointments:
1 60 min initial and 4 30-min follow-up appointments: $330
Additional follow up appointments only:
4 30-min follow-up appointments: $220
Why do we only offer packages?
Real, lasting change takes time and consistent support, not just a one-off session. Research shows that successful nutrition changes happen over weeks and months, not in a single appointment. My packages are designed to give you the ongoing guidance you need to actually implement changes, troubleshoot challenges as they come up, and build sustainable habits that stick. Think of it like learning any new skill... you wouldn't expect to master it in one lesson. Plus, this approach lets me get to know you, your lifestyle, and what actually works for your unique situation. We can adjust strategies as we go and celebrate wins together. Single sessions often leave people with a plan but no support to execute it.
